Buddhist library at the Albagnano Healing Meditation Centre.
A Buddhist library, desired by Lama Gangchen Rinpoche and dedicated to the memory of His Holiness the 10th Panchen Lama. An oasis of tranquillity dedicated to reading and printed media in an era dominated by digital media. The library was created by: Wise Projects Foundation!
The library will contain the following:
- The Kangyur: the complete works of Buddha Shakyamuni's teachings, translated into Tibetan, English and, in the future, other languages;
- The Tengyur: the complete works of all commentaries and works written by Buddhist masters in India, in Tibetan and with other existing translations;
- The Sung Bum: the complete works of the Buddhist masters of Tibet, mainly from the Gelugpa tradition;
- The Sung Bum of Lama Gangchen Rinpoche, his complete works: contemporary books and texts on Buddhism written in Western languages, as well as books on traditional medicine, astrology, history, language and more. The library will be accessible to everyone and will be part of the Italian interlibrary network.

What has been done so far?
Thanks to the generosity of various sponsors and benefactors, we have been able to achieve the following:
- Commissioning local craftsmen to build a custom-made bookcase for the special format of Tibetan texts and installing some of the shelves for books in Western format
- Purchase of rice paper to print the translated Tibetan books in English;
- Purchase of two scanners for the digitisation of rare and precious traditional Tibetan books in petcha format;
- Purchase of software to catalogue the collection;
- Commencing the cataloguing and organisation of Tibetan texts by the lamas residing in the library;
- Commencing the categorisation and registration of books in Western format;
The library is already being used as a space for private study and contemplation and has been used for Tibetan language courses.

Next steps:
- Ordering and installing the main entrance and more bookshelves to store the material in Western languages;
- Continuing the organisation and cataloguing of the books;
- Researching and ordering UV protection and sun blinds for the windows to protect the books from damage caused by the sun;
- Pagination and printing of the English translation of the Kangyur.
- Furnishing of the reading rooms;
- Furnishing of a reception area
- Planning and implementation of a permanent AI library assistant
